Virtual Course: April 2025
In 2025, the virtual one-day course will be held in April. It will include detailed lectures and photographic material combined with engaging instructive video presentations of reconstruction techniques. The challenges of facial reconstruction and a multitude of closure options will be discussed in detail, allowing ample time for faculty Q&A. Alexander Miller, M.D., serves as Course Director for the course hosted via Zoom. Concepts presented in this fast-paced course may be assimilated immediately into practice, so increase your confidence in selecting and executing optimal reconstruction approaches by attending. Course Background
The Closure Course was First introduced in 2011, this course is designed for dermatologists who are already comfortable with basic dermatologic surgery closure, but wish to take their reconstruction skill to the next level of competency. The ASMS Closure Course is face-paced and the concepts presented may be assimilated immediately into practice. This course will help develop an increased confidence in selecting and executing optimal reconstruction approaches for various defect types and anatomic locations.
Course Overview & Objectives
The ASMS virtual Advanced Closure Course provides detailed lectures, combined with photographic and engagingly instructive video presentation material of reconstruction techniques. The challenges of facial reconstruction and a multitude of closure options are discussed in detail, with ample time allowed for faculty Q&A. The course will include in depth presentations of nasal and cheek repairs, step-by-step details of paramedian forehead flaps, eyelid anatomy and eyelid reconstructions, a breadth of ear reconstructions, and a broad discussion of complications and their resolutions as well as potential preventions. This course is designed to help dermatologic surgeons take their closure techniques and decision-making confidence to the next level.

One day virtual course hosted via Zoom. On-demand replay will be available following the conclusion of the course.
