We have an exciting opportunity for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Dermatologist to join our respected private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You’ll work alongside Dr. Barbara Einhorn, our practice owner, and a dedicated team of physician assistants and support staff in a state-of-the-art clinical environment.

With a fully equipped Mohs lab and surgery suite, as well as a busy satellite location, you’ll have the opportunity to practice general dermatology while expanding into Mohs surgery if desired. Experience/Qualifications
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Dermatologist.
  • Experience in general dermatology (required).
  • Mohs surgery experience (preferred but not required).
  • Active New Mexico medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Willingness to work between two clinic locations.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mohs Surgery Histotech to join our dynamic surgical team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidates.

As a Mohs Histotech, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and processing of tissue samples, supporting our Mohs surgery practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process Mohs surgical specimens in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Master automated IHC staining work flows for permanent sections and frozen sections.
  • Perform routine histological procedures, including embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue samples.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with the surgeon and other team members to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma; an associate or bachelors degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team.

Experience/Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Certified Histotechnologist (HT/HTL) with training in Mohs surgery or experience in frozen sectioning preferred
  • Science background or demonstrated interest in science/health preferred

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
